My fashion journey has been a pursuit of self-discovery, culminating in the birth of Oito—a brand that encapsulates my creative spirit, sustainable values, and fashion-forward innovations. As I continue to evolve and express my unique style, I hope that Oito serves as an inspiration for others to embrace their creative passions and embark on their journeys of self-expression in fashion.
I've always had a passion for fashion and wanted to be involved in it in various ways. As a child, I even asked my dad to teach me website programming so that I could create my website for a 'fashion magazine'. It's interesting how throughout our lives, we strive to reconnect with the person we aspired to be in our childhood.
In my case, it took me about 20 years to truly understand who I am in this world and how to express my creativity. While I may not have been a fashionista, I've always placed great importance on my appearance, despite not always being up to date with the latest trends or knowing the best combinations.
I discovered my true self by unconventionally expressing my style, combining all of my passions: art, sustainability, and tech.
Oito emerged at the intersection of fashion and art while visiting a gallery exhibition alongside my friends. Eager to hear their perspectives, I sought their ideas, drawing inspiration from their insights. It was a serendipitous moment that led me to wake up the following day with a decision to create my line.
Derived from the Portuguese word for “eight,” Oito holds a deep personal significance as my lucky number. When individuals wear Oito pieces, my intention is for them to experience a sense of protection, be enveloped by my energy, and never feel alone.
Participating in the NFC summit in Lisbon was an exhilarating experience that marked a significant milestone for Oito. We had the privilege of opening the day with a fashion show that brought together our creative vision in collaboration with the talented Stephanie Santos and Maison DAO. It was an event that left us immensely gratified and energized.
As if that weren’t enough, we were granted the incredible honor of closing the NFT summit with our unique pieces at the Sandbox closing party. It was a remarkable finale that further solidified Oito’s place in the fashion and art world.
